Nonfulfillment does exist

I do have some habits I'm proud of, like helping household chores, going to school on weekdays and attempting to make the most of life, but I'm far from perfect. And, right now, I actually have a fear that I can't seem to shake. I have so many fears and if you would ask me about my greatest fear, I would probably say "failures". I'm afraid of looking back on life when I'm older and seeing nothing but reactivity and missed opportunities. Seeing myself as an old-grumpy man reading free newspapers alone in a coffee shop, obeying thirst with free purified water filled in a plastic cup and debating how my life should be and should be not. I'm afraid of lying on my death bed knowing full-well I didn't make the most of this chance. This could be not letting people know how much I care about them, or simply taking the 'easy' route at every turn because I'm not willing to put the effort in.
I'm afraid of not finding my life's purpose. I struggle with it every day. I find it hard to commit to things because ‘I just don't know’. Sometimes I feel low because I haven't found it yet at my age, but I try to remember that some mighty successful people did some fabulous stuff later in life. I know everything that's happened/happening will lead me closer. My mom keeps reminding me "Every failures you make, the stronger the person you are." and that quote in my head will be forever indeed.
I have been thinking about this fear for a while and wondering how I can eliminate it or make it go away. The only thing I have found to rid myself of this worry, is to act in alignment with my core values and standards at all times. To give and do the best I can in every situation. That's all any of us can do, right? It's important to realize that in everything we do, there's always a chance that we'll fail. Facing that chance, and embracing it, is not only courageous – it also gives us a fuller, more rewarding life. I overcome my fear with learning to think more positively because it is an incredibly powerful way to build self-confidence and neutralize self-sabotage.  If you're afraid of failing at something, having a "Plan B" in place can help you feel more confident about moving forward.

Many of us experience a fear of failure, but we mustn't let that fear to stop us from moving forward!!
